Nordstrom Sale 2021

Ahh yes, here we are. Another year, another #NSALE. I did a pretty thorough post last year about how I approach the sale and stay sane (and in budget), so check that out first if you’re interested. My overall point of view is that a sale is just a sale, things are just things and I never want you to feel any pressure from me (or yourself!) to shop. The “sale” psychology can feel kind of sticky – I have to consciously remind myself that just because something is on sale doesn’t mean I need it. That being said, I am from the midwest and truly despise paying full price for anything. SO, I personally like to take advantage of sales like this, albiet strategically. Going into it with a plan helps me prioritize big time and feel less whelmed.

As I said last year, I use the sale as an opportunity to either 1. replace a few staples like underpants, bras and leggings or 2. add 1-2 fall classics to my wardrobe that I am really excited about and 3. Sometimes I do both, and when choosing #2, I always try to fill a wardrobe hole. I personally try to stick to 1-2 investment type pieces total and call it a day!

Because I’ve had this approach for years, and am a loyal Nordstrom shopper, a lot of things that I consider wardrobe workhorses are, yet again, included in this year’s sale. I polled the community and you said it would be helpful to see my wishlist and some of the staples I have and love, so that’s what we’re gonna do! Some of my wishlist items actually already sold out (classic #NSALE shit, amiright?) but c’est la vie, it wasn’t meant to be!

MY WISHLIST

If I buy anything tomorrow, it will be this sweater. I’ve had my eye on the opposite colorway for the last year and ended up buying a similar version from Mango. Turns out, I love cut a hell of a lot! Plus, my friend Nan raves about the brand so much that I am totally sold. This striped cardigan is another great piece that I have my eye on!

This is the other half zip I have my eye on. I am never giving up on athleisure and this is such a perfect mix between sweater and sweatshirt! The neutral color is unlike anything I own and I just know I would wear this all year round. There are also matching joggers but the jury is still out for me on those! I do love a set tho.

This beautiful neutral plaid coat of my dreams sold out in 4.5 seconds, which I find super annoying. I have a longer, lighter weight plaid coat that I adore and wear a lot come fall. So much so, that I really wanted to get a thicker version for colder months. Alas, I may have to wait on this one if it doesn’t get re-stocked!

TRIED AND TRUE FAVORITES

These sneakers are some of my all time favorites! I love traveling with them because they are chic enough for the plane but also can be worn exercising. Granted, mine are about 6 years old and I’ve somehow managed to keep them in excellent shape.

Love a classic trench – mine is pretty darn similar and I wear it all year round!

My favorite black denim – the kick crop is amazing, the wash is a true black, the fabric is stretchy but doesn’t lose it’s shape and the rise is exactly how I like it: HIGH AF.

Several years ago I bought a camel wool coat from the sale and it’s probably one of my most worn pieces. This one is similar (but much more chic) and I’m not surprised it’s arleady sold out. I’ll keep an eye out on restocks! This is another great option.

My leather jacket is a different brand but it is this exact moto style. Super versatile and so fun – I actually wore it this past weekend over a black tie dress. BLANKNYC makes great jackets – I have and love this suede moto jacket and think the neutral colorway is timeless!

The Spanx faux leggings are back! I love mine so much that Elsa and I wrote a post about them. They come in regular and plus and are a dreamy fall/winter/work appropriate staple. I sized up – they def run small. If they run out of these always check the Spanx website – they typically price match during the sale. Speaking of Spanx, I also have and love this pair (they are really more like pants). That reminds me, I need a bigger size so I’ll be snagging them for sure.

I have this hat in two colors and I wear the sh*t out of it come fall and winter. One is this color, which is a super fun option too. Definitely an investment but 100% worth it if you’re a hat gal!

These are the best hair ties! Since they are nicer I do a better job keeping track of them (funny how that works out) but I’m still down a few from last year. I’ll be adding to my collection for sure!

Also this is totally random but I have and love this hairdryer – our bathroom is tiny and storage is great but narrow. This travel size situation fits perfectly and does the job for my locks without overheating.

If replacing your underwear every few years sounds crazy then you def need to examine your lingerie drawer. Underwear is expensive and I always by mine during the sale! My go-to t-shirt bra is included, plus my favorite plunge bra, wireless bra, high rise underpants and thongs.

CLEAN BEAUTY

I really hate that Nordstrom doesn’t have a Clean Beauty filter – get on board, y’all! Anyway, I searched through the beauty section and while there isn’t a ton of clean beauty I figured I’d round up what I did find. If you’re in need of sunscreen there’s a ton of Supergoop and I loved seeing True Botanicals there this year!

That’s all, folks! If you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask.
