Today marks the last day of Beautycounter‘s holiday sale! The entire site (with a few exceptions) is 15% off, which means it’s a great time to give the brand a try, stock up on your favorites or snag what’s left of the exclusive holiday sets! I often get asked about my all time favorite Beautycounter products, so I figured I’d create a resource for you that permanently lives here on the blog with my 5 faves.
Let me say, this was not an easy task. While I don’t exclusively use Beautycounter (my cabinet and counter are filled with other clean beauty brands, too!) we have some of the most rigoriously tested ingredients, safest formulations and highest performing products out there. Each of the products listed below is a must have in my book! I hope that by outlining what I love, why it’s safer and who would benefit, you’ll be able to have an easy guide that you can refer back to time and time again.
I think if I could recommend ONE product, it would be the peel! I even wrote an entire blog post about it. The peel is the queen of exfoliation: the combination of AHA/BHA acids improves skin texture and boosts clarity but without the irritation or over-drying you get from similar products. How? The unique combination formula clears away dull surface cells while soothing skin to reveal a brighter complexion. It’s also formulated without synthetic fragrances, PEGs, and formaldehyde-based preservatives that may be found in other peels. I use it every other day and have seen a signifcant improvement in my skin’s texture and brightness, plus reduced breakouts and pore size. It works well with all skin types, but if you’re really sensitive, have eczema or rosacea, I would definitely patch test or reach out to me first!
I have an entire highlight about this mask (and a post in the works) so if you’ve been following for awhile you probably had an inkling it would make the cut! I have yet to find a mask that is effective, gentle and satisfying. Case in point: my favorite part is that after the mask dries, it gets darker in all of the problem spots. You can literally see it working as the nutrient-rich kaolin clay/activated charcoal combo purifies and balances, absorbs excess oil and draws out impurities. It calms, refines and smoothes and is perfect for those concerned with congestion and oily skin.
I thought I loved our old concealer…until I tried this one. I broke it down in my recent base face tutorial but essentially, this is skincare level makeup. As I’ve gotten older I’ve gotten pickier about my makeup – I want it to help my skin, not sit on top of it and that’s exactly what this concealer does! It immediately diffuses imperfections and reduces signs of skin fatigue for a visibly brighter-looking complexion, while powerhouse ingredients like knotgrass extract improve the look of skin over time for a firmer, smoother appearance. Basically, this baby provides undetectable (yet buildable) coverage with skin-care quality benefits and has enabled me to wear less makeup overall! It comes in 13 shades and you can use the shade finder to find your perfect match.
An oldie but a goodie! This balm to oil forumla is a serious vacation for the senses – if you can’t go on a tropical trip this is your next best bet. The manoi scent is heavenly! The nourishing formula features argan and avocado oil which helps hydrate and soften, giving skin a healthy-looking glow. It’s perfect for cuticles, elbows and dry areas but I use it on my arms and legs too. A little goes a long way! I use it year round but especially love it in the winter time for a super hydrating boost with a summery scent.
Countertime Mineral Boost Hydrating Essence
You’ve heard me sing the praises of this amped up toner since it launched last year! This was the first product from the Countertime line that I tried and I’ve been using it ever since. An essence is like a toner but more beneficial – it’s a bit milkier and is loaded with vital nutrients to boost the skin’s moisture barrier and ensure that the rest of the products in my routine absorb properly. Bonus – it has our plant-based Retinatural Complex, a blend of bakuchiol (a clean alternative to retinol) and swiss alpine rose (which boosts skin’s antioxidant defense) that combine to deliver impactful results without the nasty side effects of traditional retinol products. Renews, balances, and is clinically proven to improve skin’s barrier function. Yes please!
