Gifts for Home and Hosts

Possibly my favorite gift guide yet: gifts for home and hosts. I love this one because there are ideas for all ages, stages and types of receipients. And, since we are all home a lot more than we are used to, I wanted these selections to be particularly meaningful!

As with my other guides, some of these are gifts we already own and love, others and things that both C and I adore by brands that we support. You’ll find varying price ranges, small and large business and a lot of ideas for that person you are completely stumped about 😉

1. A Pretty Coffee Table Book – Entertaining Beautifully by Aerin Lauder is a dream and perfect for the entertainer in your life! I love that the book is about entertaining and having it on a table is a lovely conversation starter while entertaining. Aerin has exquisite taste and I adore her collaborations with Williams-Sonoma! I also love and have gifted Fifth Avenue Style to many a friend and family member after receiving it as a gift myself (#aspirational amiright?). Other favorites? This one about James Bond cars and this one about regrettable superheroes. Both were huge hits with C! | $49.50, other prices vary

2. Pretty Linens – These dinner napkins by Aerin Lauder for Williams-Sonoma would be a great pairing with her coffee table book! You could also snag these classic Provence napkins (I use them year round) and pair them with a french cookbook like My Paris Kitchen! | $39.95, other prices vary

3. Beaded Napkin Box – Mariposa is one of my favorite brands for giving, gifting and receiving! I love that they used recycled sandcast aluminum and their designs are so classic. This napkin box is a favorite – pricing varies depending on whether or not you do napkins and a napkin weight but together they make a well rounded gift. The best thing about the box is that you can swap out the weight and napkins for different seasons and occasions! | $48 for box, weight and napkins

4. Matchbox Print – We gifted one of these to ourselves a few years ago and it has become one of our most treasured home pieces. The photographer, Charles Ryan Clark, went to C’s high school and creates the most amazing matchbox prints from places and restaurants around the world! We love his NYC section (obviously) and are eyeing a few from Paris, too! What a great gift for family and friends who love to travel but haven’t been able to this year. Also a great gift for guys! Bonus: they come framed and ready to gift! | $165

5. Candle Wick Trimmer – Did you know that trimming the wicks on your candles makes them last longer? A wick trimmer is an essential for anyone who loves or burns candles. Nice candles can be expensive so this seemingly silly tool is key to get the best bang for your buck and savoring the smells (more on this to come in my clean candle post). This one from Anthro is literally the cutest I’ve seen! | $18 and 30% off this weekend

6. Parks Project Candle – This would be so lovely paired with #5! The Parks Project partners with organizations across the country to fund projects that are most critical to sustaining and maintaining our nations public lands. Every single item they sell is sustainably made, carefully curated and gives back to a National Park or related organization. I grew up going to camp in Rocky Mountain National Park and took many a road trip with my parents, something we haven’t been able to do as of late. This is a wonderful way to travel in the comfort of your own home via the senses and give back during a time when our parks need it most. Plus, the candle is phthalate, paraben and toxin free and smells amazing! If it’s sold out, there are plenty of other thoughtful park related gifts, too. | $34

7. Multipurpose Turkish Towels – These hand towels are delightful and ethically and sustainably made by local artisans in Turkey. Anchors Aweigh Supply is a small, women-owned and run business and a favorite of mine. I adore the owner, Nagehan! I have these exact towels and use them for the table, the kitchen, the bathroom and everything in between. Such a lovely treat for the blue and white loving lady, but there are other colors too of course. | $13.98 each but 50% off today!

8. Follain Refillable Everything Soap – The perfect pairing for #7! I love Follain and their mission to get only the cleanest, safest products into the hands of consumers. Their refillable soap is gentle, sustainable and can be used for quite literally everything (even pets!). Plus the bottle looks lovely on a counter (or in the bath!).| $24 but 20% off until Monday

9. Spode Christmas Mug – My favorite holiday print! I adore all things Spode (which is why you’ll see the brand across my gift guides) and this is the perfect gift to build out a festive treat for a friend or neighbor. Snag this one on Amazon and then read #10 – a thoughtful and cozy gift, indeed! | $12

10. Tea Infuser and Leaves – Not for nothing, but a lot of tea bags are loaded with plastic and potential toxins. Loose leaf tea is a great way to avoid this problem and ends up being quite a lovely ritual! A lovely gift for homebodies and tea drinker alike. Don’t forget to purchase them from one of these black-owned tea shops that have online storefronts! | Prices vary

11. Monogrammed Catchall – I am a firm believer that you can never have enough catchalls! C and I both have them by our beds, plus we keep one by the door for our keys and in the kitchen for rings and jewelry while cooking. This one is a great size and such a good price, plus the monogram makes it extra thoughtful. Comes in lots of patterns, colors and styles! Great for the newly engaged, married or as a family gift.| $35

12. Savory Herbs Collection – Ever wanted to grow your herbs at home? Same. This indoor herb garden is aesthetically pleasing and fun for individuals and families alike. Bloomscape has lots of options for gifting plants and herbs and their planters are simple and easily blend with any decor. I love the idea of gifting something you can care for, grow with and ultimately cook with! A much needed change of pace during this tough year. | $65

13 + 14. Brie Baker + Jelly – Have you ever baked brie? If you haven’t, you must, and this gift helps others do the same! This darling brie baker is under $20 and pairs perfectly with a wheel of brie and this hot pepper jelly. Both can be easily found at your local grocery store and the baker can be shipped right away! Such a fun gift for your favorite entertainer. | $19.95 + extras

15. Roasting Forks – Technically these are called hot dog forks, but they are so much cuter than a lot of the ones I found! I love the detail on the wooden handles and that it’s a set of two. These forks are perfect for roasting s’mores at home, over the fireplace or stove (I see you apartment people). Add marshmallows, graham crackers and chocolate, or see #16 for an excellent gift combo that will be sure to suprise and delight! | $19.95 and 15% off with THANKS15

16. City Bonfires – The BEST gift for family and friends who are staying home in small spaces (or large spaces without a fireplace). I love that you can set this little fire up on a balcony or in a backyard and have a modified “camping” experience. They even have a s’mores kit! Experiential gifts are the best – the memories end up being an even better gift! | $26.95 plus 25% this weekend

17. Succulent Trio – Another plant gift that you can either gift to one person of purchase and gift separately to friends, family and neighbors! Succulents are pretty low maintenance but really brighten and boost a space – especially a modified desk for those working from home! Plus, The Sill sends all of the care instructions and has great customer service. | $45 for three

18. Watering Can – A great gift to add on to #12 and #17! This mini copper can is aesthetically pleasing and perfect for indoor use. It can also be used to fill vases and as a vase on its own!| $39.95

19. Noun New York Print – Another memorable gift for the NYC lover! Amanda is a local designer and artist who started drawing restaurants and venues all over NYC during the onset of COVID-19 quarantine. She does everything using ink, not pencil, so nothing is ever erased and every drawing is imperfectly unique. We have the L’Artusi print (obviously) but there are many others and she does custom work too! Such a special gift for my fellow NYC lovers. | Prices vary

20. Softening Hand Duo – Holy heck, this is the best gift of all! This lucious soap and lotion set debuted in a new heavely neroli scent and in elevated, sutainably frosted glass bottles. They look lovely on a counter and while there aren’t refillable options yet, you can keep the glass bottle and refill with whatever you choose! I use and love this brand. Great to give together in the gift box or separately to your clean concious and environmentally friendly friends and fam – or the ones you’re trying to convert 😉 |$65 and 15% off right now
