TGIF! A few weeks ago I mentioned I was thinking about pivoting my On My Mind series to a weekly series. But the more I thought about it, the more I decided that On My Mind is perfect as it is: a monthly review where I pause, reflect, and share allll of the things with alllll of the words 😉 With that said, I’m still craving a more casual and frequent forum where I can share spontaneous things more regularly. I love reading other people’s weekly round ups so I figured why not give it a go? Enter my new series: Five Favorites.
Five Favorites will be more informal than On My Mind: a little more fun and a little more random. It will vary from week to week, but I promise it will always be a quick and inspiring way for you to head into the weekend!
My favorite Beautycounter holiday set is almost sold out! I chatted about the Bright Side Duo in this post, but it’s basically the be-all-end-all for bright, clear and radiant skin. The set contains mini versions of my go-to daytime serum, The All Bright C Serum, and nightime peel, The Overnight Resufacing Peel. If you want to snag this baby, make sure you do it soon!
Do you dress up for the holidays? I personally always err on the side of dressy vs. casual. My go-to look? Statement pants. Every Thanksgiving since college I wore burnt orange J.Crew trousers (city fit anyone?) but after almost 10 years they are finally too small (and too low rise…woof). Even though we are having a small family get together I felt strongly about keeping my #partypants tradition alive, so I ordered these (on sale!) and cannot wait to style them!
I have been feeling so unmotivated lately. I don’t know if it’s the move, the election, daylight savings… all of the above? But I’m tired. Whenever I’m feeling meh I dig into the words of others and write words of my own. It helps me process all da feels and re-center. Earlier this year I ordered a new journal from Erin Condren and I have to say – I adore it. I’m super picky about journals – they have to be spiral bound with thicker paper – and this one has really held up. I also only use these pens… now that I made the switch I don’t think I’ll ever go back. Anyway, back to the journal – I added my own affirmation on the front, and that small personalization has been so encouraging on my toughest of days. I’ll share my affirmation below, in case you could use a boost too 🙂
I AM HEALING, WORTHY, STRONG, BRAVE AND BEAUTIFUL
Earlier this week I shared my new stoneware bakeware and got so many DMs! The muffin pan and round baker are from Bennington Potters, and they are as beautiful in person as they are in pictures! One of the hardest safer swaps for me has been bakeware, but I’m slowly building a solid collection and can’t wait to share more details with you.
Have you heard of The Good Trade? It’s a resource for sustainable living – from fashion and food to lifestyle and wellness. I’m a huge fan, and one of the best things I’ve done recently (no exaggeration) is subscribe to their Daily Good newsletter. While most of the newsletters I get are news based (to my work email) this one is thoughtfully curated, inspiring and not at all overwhelming. It only takes a few minutes to read, but every time I finish I feel excited and encouraged. Highly recommend!
That’s all for now! Have a fantastic weekend!
