Five Favorites 11/13

TGIF! I honestly don’t remember most of this week. I spent 95% of it in front of my computer and forgot to shower at least once. I’ve also had the most bizarre sleep schedule! So it makes sense that the last post on the blog was… a week ago.

That being said, I am revving up content for the holiday season and am so excited to launch Purely Nora Holiday in the next few days! Keep your eyes peeled for a dedicated menu, gift guides and a few fun clean beauty and living resources and giveaways! I know this year has been hard but my hope is that we can lift eachother’s spirits, embrace the weirdness, create new traditions and celebrate the season as a community. I’m here to support you during this new and different time, and I’m working really hard to deliver content that helps you, makes your life easier and lifts you up!

Thinking ahead to the weeked, I’m actually pretty excited because we have absolutely zero plans. None. Nada. So my hope is that we’ll continue our tradition of long walks in the park each morning and snuggles and movies at night. As far as the middle, I have a lot of blog and Beautycounter catch up to do, a day date with Elsa and am determined to get my bunnies to the nail salon for a chair massage before the state is shut down again. Fingers. Crossed.

HAPPY COLGATE DAY! Every Friday the 13th is COLGATE DAY, basically a spirit day that honors our alma mater, Colgate University. The story goes that the school was founded by 13 men with 13 dollars and 13 prayers. They then settled on 13 articles for a constitution, of which became the foundation for Colgate University. I’m not big on superstitions but I kind of like that the classic “unlucky” 13 is actually very special to us. C and I met our freshman year at Colgate but we didn’t officially start dating until our junior year. Here is a picture of us at a party looking very…college.

So…last week I BOUGHT A MAGAZINE. Yes, a real paper magazine and it was Town & Country which I don’t think I’ve ever read in my life. But, when we were checking out at the grocery store, I saw the cast of The Crown on the cover and the next thing you know – I’m walking out with food for the week and a magazine. Do you watch The Crown? I freaking love it but don’t get to watch it as much as I’d like because C isn’t a fan (womp). If you’re a fan too, then you’re in luck – Town & Country actually has an entire landing page dedicated to the show! I feel like it’s important to note that while I’m fascinated by The Royal Family I would be the worst royal – no expressing opinions or showing emotions? I’d last a solid minute max. Here for the fashion though. HERE. FOR. IT.

How many sweaters is too many sweaters? 100% asking for myself. I’m in a massive cardigan phase and love that I can wear them over things, alone and pair them with cute clothes and casual clothes and pajamas. Call me crazy, but a cardigan might just be the most versatile wardrobe staple. Sharing some of my all time favorites that I grab for time and time again, in case you’re looking to up your versatility game!

I figured out how to change my screen settings on my work laptop and optimized it for eye fatigue! There are a couple very nerdy and possibly obvious tech hacks that I will share on stories, but for those of you who sit in front of screens all day (like moi) I guarantee they will be game changers. The other gamechanger? Blue light glasses, which I am not currently wearing and already regretting it. These and these are my faves!

I realized I still have so many fun things left on my fall bucket list! Trying to decide what we should tackle this weekend – maybe s’mores? Pumpkin carving? Taking our clothes to the donation stations? Last weekend my friend Chloe helped me sort through my closet and I’m finally feeling better about it. That being said, I’m still trying to figure out my donate vs. sell plan. I used to send everything to ThredUp but they aren’t taking bags anymore so alas, I’m debating on reviving my Poshmark or trying Depop. I’m giving myself 2 more weeks and if I haven’t taken action I probably never will and I’ll take them all to a local thrift shop!

That’s it for now. Have a fantastic weekend!

Yey for The Crown! If you haven’t checked this podcast out their series on Diana is amazing – great to listen to in advance of the latest Crown series. https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/princess-diana-part-1-the-courtship/id1380008439?i=1000492796502

I hope you are all doing well there – I am in Australia and it seems so different there. Take care.
