Better Beauty and Festive Fun at Beautycounter

Two weeks ago I had the pleasure of hosting an event at the Beautycounter store in Soho. As a consultant, I’m able to rent the store after hours, invite friends, bring wine and together we basically sip, shop and chat clean living. It’s essentially all of my favorite things in one setting! I love catching up with friends old and new, walking them through the store and helping them switch to safer products. I’m a big believer that when we know better we can do better and by sharing safer beauty and skincare with my friends and family, we can do better together!

This event was a blast and it was extra special because we got to sample the entire holiday collection! If you’ve been following me on Instagram you know that I cannot get enough of this season’s holiday sets – I was lucky enough to have early access and am happy to report that I’ve been using and loving them ever since! The best part? 8 of the sets are under $40 and 14 sets are under $50 which makes them a fantastic price point for gifting.

Beauty and skincare make great gifts because often times they are things people don’t love to buy for themselves, either because they can be expensive or because taking the time for self care feels like a luxury. Girl, I have been there. And you know what, I can honestly say that amping up my safer skincare routine – though it involves more time and arguably more money – has saved my skin and greatly improved my confidence. Now that, my friends, is the real gift.

I know that most of you aren’t local so today I’m going to share my 6 favorite sets I talked about at my event, why they are safer, plus fun ways to give and gift them!

ROSEWOOD TRIO | My all time favorite lip gloss now comes in a trio with a lip gloss, sheer lipstick and color intense lipstick. Rosewood is a warm neutral that is flattering on most skin tones – I keep one of these three in my bag at all times. Why is it safer? Our lipsticks get their hydrating touch from plant based ingredients such as jojoba esters, and their light scent from real vanilla – not from synthetic flavors, fragrances, or ingredients linked to a negative impact on health. We also test each batch for heavy metals to ensure it meets our strict safety standards. This set is $49 and is great for that lipstick lover in your life (or yourself tbh!).

POUT PERFECTOR LIP CARE SET | You guys, my lips have been DRY lately and this kit has been my saving grace. It comes with a Lip Polish, Better Balm and Crystal Lipgloss aka everything I need for a well-hydrated pout. Why is this combo safer? These lip products are formulated without mineral oils, parrafin, acrylic acid, petrolatum, or propylene glycol – ingredients found in many standard lip balms, glosses and scrubs. Eek! This set is $49 and is perfect for the chapstick lover or someone who has a low maintenance make-up routine.

HAND CREAM TRIO | My latest obsession because 1) the holiday scents are dreamy 2) the formulation is hydrating without being greasy and 3) I can break apart the set! I have been looking for a non-greasy but effective hand cream FOREVER and this one fits the bill. I keep one at home, one in my purse and one at my desk at work. Why is it safer? As beautiful as they smell, they are also safe scents: none of these creams contain parabens or synthetic fragrances that may contain potentially harmful ingredients. This set is $34 and would make a great hostess gift, teacher present or stocking stuffer, either together or split up! I’m combining this and/or a body butter for all of my hostess gifts this year!

BRIGHT EYES TREATMENT SET | I use this eye cream every single day, morning and night. It contains our Retinatural Complex, a safer alternative to retinol, and is designed to revitalize the eye area for a youthful, brighter appearance. The Eye Revive Cooling Masks are a fan favorite and I love that they provide INSTANT hydration, help reduce the appearance of puffiness, and refresh tired skin. Holiday must-have? Methinks yes. This set is $89 and while on the pricey side, the cream will last months. A perfect gift for mothers, mothers-in-law, besties and skin care snobs 😉

THE JELLIES | Can you tell I’m super into lip care these days? I’m the first to admit I was a jelly skeptic – the colors seemed a little bright and I wasn’t sure how I’d feel about the stevia-sweetened aspect. Now that I’ve used them, I can confidently say I feel GREAT about it! They keep my lips ever-so-hydrated with a subtle tint, a glossy (but not sticky) sheen and touch of sweetness. Why are they safer? As delicious as they smell, you’ll find zero artifical fragrances here! This set is $39 and great for kids, teens, adults and anyone who loves a little fun!

COUNTER+ SKINCARE FAVORITES | All of our best selling (and universally appealing) skincare products in one set! The new Lotus Glow Cleansing Stick melts into skin and magically transforms into a gentle milk when it meets water. I’ve yet to try it but once I run out of my cleanser it’s next on my list – and it’s great for travel! The Overnight Resurfacing Peel is my ALL TIME favorite product. I use it every other night and it gently and effectively reveals a brighter, more radiant-looking complexion but without irritation. Lastly, the No. 1 Brightening Facial Oil leaves skin with a glow and my favorite Charcoal Facial Mask deep-cleans and balances. This set is $89 and great for that special someone that has been wanting to try clean skincare, the person who has everything or, of course, for yourself!
